Jobot in Memphis, TN is seeking a Manager of Strategic Sourcing to lead sourcing, supplier management, and category strategy for a defined portfolio of ingredients. This individual contributor role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, Commercialization, and Finance to build a reliable, cost-effective ingredient supply base.

The position requires 5–10 years in strategic sourcing with strong negotiation skills and ERP/Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• 5–10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category-management experience.
• Food manufacturing, ingredient sourcing, or consumer packaged goods experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned ingredient categories.
• Lead RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and selection processes.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships across cost, quality, service, innovation, and performance.
• Monitor commodity markets, cost drivers, industry trends, and supply risks.
• Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Support new product development and commercialization through supplier engagement.
• Develop risk-mitigation and business-continuity plans for critical ingredients.
• Present sourcing recommendations, supplier performance, and market updates to leadership.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracts, and sourcing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category-management experience.
• Food manufacturing, ingredient sourcing, or consumer packaged goods experience required.
• Proven success negotiating supplier contracts and commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of supplier management, commodity markets, cost drivers, and supply risk.
• Strong analytical, financial, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience working with ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience sourcing food ingredients.
• Experience with commodity analysis, should-cost models, or cost modeling.
• Power BI or procurement analytics experience.
• CPSM, CPM, CSCP, APICS, or similar certification.
