Job summary

New Relic is seeking an experienced technology leader to guide and grow our global engineering team. You will help build the next generation of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) by leading our Agent teams and delivering insights from complex distributed systems.

You'll design scalable processes, collaborate across teams, and mentor engineers to drive reliability, performance, and rapid iteration in a fast-growing environment. Remote-friendly with potential office options.

What you’ll do

• Hands on with data analysis and technical problem solving
• Leverage open source tools like OpenTelemetry to acquire data

• Build processes that ensure reliability, scalability, team growth and execution

This role requires

• 4+ years of experience leading people and teams
• 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Proven track record of leading and scaling strong technical teams
• Experience handling high performing self-directed remote teams
• Capable of diving deep and understanding the technical implications and risks of a decision
• Experience in a backend language like Java and Node
• Experience with Data Analysis
• Experience managing on-call rotations and 24/7 operations

• Able to handle a fast paced working environment

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with OpenTelemetry or other observability tools

Estimated Base Pay Range

$186,000 – $233,000 USD
