The Software Development Manager will lead a team of full-stack developers, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of applications. The role involves coordinating with stakeholders, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality software solutions. It is pivotal in driving innovation and maintaining efficient development processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software systems and applications.
  • Manage the strategic planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, including scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Lead development projects as the technical expert, participating in all phases from requirements analysis to deployment.
  • Support Agile processes, including planning, cross-functional collaboration, and demonstrating working software.
  • Evaluate new platforms, technologies, and tools for potential integration.
  • Make design decisions promoting reusability, extensibility, maintainability, and minimal coupling.
  • Provide solutions for scalability, performance, and technological challenges impacting project timelines.
  • Act as an escalation point for the development team.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the team at the forefront of innovation.
Team Leadership
  • Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and growth opportunities for the team.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment encouraging innovation.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback.
  • Support professional development and training initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of industry experience, with at least 2 years in a VP or equivalent leadership role.
  • 5+ years managing distributed teams.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and development environments, including C#/.Net, Python, JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud-native applications, AWS, and related services.
  • Strong foundation in enterprise architecture, APIs, databases, DevOps, and observability tools.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum, DevOps, and related tools like Jira, Git, Jenkins.
  • Excellent communication skills and proactive decision-making ability.
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience with generative AI technologies, frameworks, and models.
  • Expertise in language models, embeddings, prompt engineering, and AI workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Python, and modern ML/AI stacks.
  • Knowledge of AWS security and compliance frameworks.
