The Software Development Manager will lead a team of full stack developers, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of applications. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, mentoring team members, and ensuring high-quality software solutions. The role is vital for driving innovation, improving productivity, and maintaining efficient development processes.

Essential Job Functions

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug software systems and applications for market sale or proprietary use.
• Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, including scope, objectives, timelines, resources, and budgets, adhering to best practices.
• Serve as the technical lead in development projects, participating in all phases from requirements analysis to deployment.
• Follow Agile processes supporting planning, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering working software.
• Evaluate new technologies and platforms for potential integration into products.
• Make design decisions that promote reusability, maintainability, and scalability while minimizing coupling.
• Provide solutions to technical challenges impacting timelines and performance.
• Act as an escalation point for the development team.
• Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the team at the forefront of innovation.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Team Leadership

• Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive environment that encourages innovation.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 12+ years in industry, with 2+ years in a VP or equivalent role.
• 5+ years managing distributed teams.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and development environments, including C#,.Net, Python, JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-native app development, AWS, and related services.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, APIs, databases, DevOps, and IaC tools.
• Experience with Agile Scrum and DevOps methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI technologies and frameworks.
• Ability to develop and implement AI models and algorithms.
• Expertise in language models, embeddings, prompt engineering, RAG, and vector search.
• Strong experience with AWS AI/ML services like Bedrock and SageMaker, and modern ML stacks.
• Knowledge of AWS-native AI/ML workflows and security standards.
