Managers of the Site Reliability Engineering plan and oversee all SRE projects and manage teams of varying sizes. SRE projects vary in duration and complexity but every one has business value and is critical to the resiliency of the Dayforce application and customers.

What you'll get to do

  • Learn about Dayforce’s cloud infrastructure and the applications that run on them to build a full mental model of how the Dayforce ecosystem works.
  • Lead the most complex incidents, publish root cause documents, and ensure all remediation actions are robust and automatic to avoid duplicate incidents.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all SRE projects.
  • Recruit, interview and hire future SREs.
  • Develop and ensure all training materials are kept up to date.
  • Develop trusted relationships with all parts of Dayforce’s business.
  • PagerDuty On-Call rotations as required.

Skills and Experience we value

  • Proven ability to manage a group of technical engineers.
  • Proven ability to manage technical projects from start to finish.
  • Ability to architect systems and applications is highly valuable.
  • Experience operating highly distributed systems.
  • Seasoned Incident Commander.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure Preferred).
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira Project Management as well as Scrum, Kanban and Agile Methodologies is mandatory.
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (C# and Java preferred).
  • Experience with at least one scripting language (Python and PowerShell preferred).
  • Experience with at least one database engine and querying language (MSSQL/TSQL and Postgres/PLSQL preferred).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to gather requirements from multiple stakeholders and manage projects that execute on those defined requirements.
  • Proven ability to consistently deliver solutions on time.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations.
  • Knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Terraform is considered an asset.
