Overview Of Role
The Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will be responsible for SEC reporting and disclosures, SOX implementation, and involvement in complex accounting transactions including accruals, collaboration accounting, and equity accounting.
Role And Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of all external financial reporting, including Forms 10-K/10-Q, earnings releases, proxy statement, and other required SEC filings to ensure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Assist in preparation of the Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Shareholder’s equity, Earnings per Share workbooks, and other financial disclosure requirements
- Coordinate the information gathering process across the organization and interact with external auditors
- Review XBRL interactive data files for all Form 10-Q and 10-K filings in accordance with SEC requirements
- Research, document memos, record, and communicate technical accounting matters and journal entries for complex transactions
- Analyze and interpret new accounting standards and SEC regulations, and provide guidance on business transactions
- Research new disclosures and FASB updates, and collaborate with auditors on disclosure requirements
- Develop and update the company’s financial accounting policies to align with U.S. GAAP
- Implement SOX controls, create policies, and coordinate with internal auditors
- Manage stock compensation accounting, including valuation, expense calculation, and disclosures
- Coordinate Disclosure Committee meetings and manage SOX sub-certifications
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as needed
Experience, Education, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required
- 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years in Big Four public accounting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
- Results-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Team player willing to assist in other areas of accounting
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong strategic and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience with SAP, Shareworks, and Workiva preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
The pay range for this role is $130,000-$150,000 annually, with compensation based on experience, skills, and location. Benefits may include bonus, stock, and other incentives.
