DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE GLOBAL FINANCE

POSITION OVERVIEW
Manager, Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting. As we look to prepare the company for public readiness, this new role will own external financial reporting and manage the preparation of financial statements. Eventually this individual will be responsible for the statutory filings and related regulatory filings including but not limited to the 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, annual report, and earnings release presentations. This position will also be responsible for supporting the quarterly reviews and annual audit, as well as, researching, interpreting, and implementing new accounting standards. Additionally, this individual will innovate and drive efficiencies through continual evaluation of our systems and business processes. This role will work closely with the external auditors and a variety of internal teams and will also be responsible for assessment of technical accounting matters, including purchase and joint venture accounting, integration, and revenue recognition. This individual will have the opportunity to assist in special projects and process improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the SEC reporting process including drafting portions of Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, S-3, S-8 and preparing supporting schedules.
  • Conduct technical accounting research on complex transactions and new accounting pronouncements; working with various teams to understand and implement the impacts.
  • Assist in communicating to key stakeholders, the impacts of new or proposed accounting interpretations, pronouncements or other technical literature.
  • Assist in the reporting and managing of all equity-based transactions.
  • Maintain quarterly reporting timetable and monitor progress against reporting cycle milestones.
  • Assist with the implementation of process improvements including system reporting upgrades.
  • Ensure and document compliance with internal policies, SOX controls, and regulations relating to US GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Draft and update accounting policies, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS in accounting; CPA required.
  • 8+ years of experience in external reporting, technical accounting, and/or external audit.
  • Experience filing Form S-1 is a plus.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and plan effectively: be "hands on", detail and results oriented, and manage multiple tasks against tight deadlines.
  • Broad experience and knowledge of US GAAP with technical accounting experience related to accounting requirements and regulations.
  • Some experience with public company filings process and SEC document writing.
  • Excellent documentation skills - attention to detail, rigorous work paper standards.
  • Ability to quickly synthesize data and provide recommendations.
  • Able to research and apply technical accounting concepts (thorough knowledge of GAAP).
  • Able to understand and comply with XBRL requirements and other SEC reporting rules.
  • Individual must have competent presentation skills (experience preparing materials and presenting).
  • Quick learner with desire to continue to learn and grow knowledge base.
  • Aptitude for understanding accounting systems and consolidations logic.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Confident, self-starter who is comfortable with a mix of thoughtful strategy work and everyday details.
  • High level of Excel and Word skills required, knowledge of NetSuite and Wdesk (Workiva) is desirable.
