JSW Steel Limited is seeking an Operations & Scrap Management leader to oversee direct scrap blending, melting, and production planning. You will drive process improvements, safety culture, and sustainability across the facility in Kentucky, aligning with demand forecasts and budgets.
Responsibilities include leading supervisors and operators, collaborating with Procurement, LMF-VTD, Caster, and Refractory teams to optimize throughput, and using Lean Six Sigma to reduce energy use and costs
Operations & Scrap Management: Direct scrap blending and melting processes to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production volumes according to demand forecasts.
Process Optimization & Innovation: Optimize yield and reduce energy consumption using Lean/Six Sigma principles. Champion advanced technology adoption like AI/ML for predictive maintenance, digital twins, and robotics.
Safety & Sustainability: Cultivate a strong safety-first culture and drive facility decarbonization, emissions compliance, and circular economy practices.
Cost & Budget Control: Adhere to operational budgets, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and monitor raw material usage against MBP targets through variance analysis.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor production supervisors and operators while managing labor relations in partnership with HR.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as a central liaison between Procurement, LMF-VTD, Caster, and Refractory teams to optimize shop-wide throughput.
Key Performance Indicators You'll Drive:
Production Volume & Schedule: Liquid steel tons (LST), plan vs. target adherence, operating rates, and on-time delivery.
Yield & Efficiency: Overall yield (raw material to finished product), specific process yields (EAF, LF, Caster, Refractory), and throughput (Tons/Hour).
Cost & Asset Management: Cost per ton of steel produced and capacity utilization rate
