Job summary

JSW Steel Limited is seeking an Operations & Production leader to direct all stages of steel refining and drive daily, weekly, and monthly targets in alignment with sales forecasts.

The role focuses on process optimization, Lean/Six Sigma adoption, automation, and robotics to boost yield and reduce energy use, while cultivating a strong safety culture and ESG initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience leading steel refining operations.
• Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to drive cross‑functional collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

• Direct all stages of steel refining to meet daily, weekly and monthly targets.
• Drive yield optimization and energy reduction through process improvements.
• Foster a strong safety culture and support ESG initiatives.
• Lead and mentor a diverse workforce with clear KPIs and continuous improvement.
• Manage operational budgets and control material and energy costs; perform variance analysis.
• Serve as a liaison between Operations, EAF, Caster, Refractory, Procurement and Finance teams.
• Track KPIs: Production & Yield, Cost & Uptime, Quality, Safety & ESG.

Job description

Operations & Production: Direct all stages of steel refining, ensuring daily, weekly, and monthly targets are met according to sales forecasts.
Process Optimization & Tech Adoption: Modernize operations by driving Lean/Six Sigma, advanced process controls, automation, and robotics to boost yield and cut energy consumption.
Safety & Sustainability: Cultivate a strong safety culture and support environmental initiatives like decarbonization and circular economy practices.
Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a diverse workforce, setting clear KPIs while fostering continuous improvement.
Cost & Budget Management: Manage operational budgets, control consumption costs (ferroalloys, raw materials, energy), and perform variance analysis.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between operations, EAF, Caster, Refractory, Procurement, and Finance teams.
Key Performance Indicators You'll Drive:
Production & Yield: Output volume, capacity utilization, alloy yield rates, and throughput (Tons/Hour).
Cost & Uptime: Cost per ton, energy/consumable rates, and minimizing unplanned breakdown downtime.
Quality: First Time Right %, internal scrap rates, and product conformity.
Safety & ESG: LTIFR, TRIR, near-miss reporting, and waste generation management.
