Job Title

Manager, Scheduling – James Outpatient Registration, The Ohio State University Medical Center

Overview

The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to improving access and service to customers. The Manager functions as an integral member of the health care team, operationalizing the strategic plan of the Medical Center to improve access and services through centralized scheduling and ensuring reimbursement of hospital services. Accurate data is gathered to ensure proper scheduling for patients at The James. The Manager may support other areas such as financial counseling, precertification, and registration.

Responsibilities

• Manage, guide, coach, and evaluate staff in Patient Access for The James.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy of scheduling and efficacy of processes through reports, QA data, and process analysis.
• Resolve identified issues and continually pursue improved outcomes.
• Assist with development of budgets, implementation of new programs, and creation of outcome measurements.
• Ensure compliance with JCAHO standards and other regulatory agencies.
• Serve in place of the Assistant Director when unavailable for customers, other departments, and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience required (8–12 years preferred).
• Health‑care experience preferred.
• Demonstrated successful leadership, supervisory, and management skills.
• Computer experience required; proficiency in applications and systems.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Professionalism and ability to win confidence at all levels of the organization.
