Job summary

Becton Dickinson in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Sales Training Manager to onboard field-based reps, develop engaging training programs, and optimize the learning ecosystem. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–3 years clinical experience in minimally invasive endovascular and/or open surgery.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years documented sales experience preferred.
  • Experience selling disposable or small capital medical products preferred.
  • Extensive disease state knowledge and clinical experience in minimally invasive and surgical procedures.
  • Travel is required as needed, approximately 30%.

Responsibilities

  • On-board field-based representatives and create/revise/publish self-paced training materials and online modules.
  • Coordinate field ride assignments and deliver Sales Academy sessions.
  • Develop and manage Learning Management System and create online eLearning content and quizzes.
  • Utilize interactive platforms to deliver virtual learning and address on-demand needs.
  • Monitor and measure training activities and outcomes.
  • Revise content to meet regulatory standards.
  • Identify training sites and support new hire training.
  • Produce monthly/bi-annual updates on program performance.
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects to boost sales productivity.
  • Develop train-the-trainer programs for SMEs.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies.
  • Prioritize regional training requests.
  • Create blended training solutions combining classroom, e-learning, and on-the-job training.
  • Support international training initiatives as needed.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Manage the on-boarding of field-based representatives inclusive of: Create, revise, publish, and evaluate self-paced training materials and online eLearning modules. Coordinate field ride assignments in collaboration with Regional Manager Manage agenda, curricula and training materials for and presentation/delivery of: Sales Academy Advanced Sales Academy Local, National, and Regional Meetings Assists with the development and management of a formalized Learning Management System, Create online eLearning module content and quizzes to support continuous education.
  • Effectively utilize interactive technology platforms to facilitate virtual learning and address training on demand needs. This includes creating, managing and distributing approved content. Monitor and measure all field training activities completed by sales and clinical trainers with new hires.
  • Continually revise content used in training and development to meet regulatory standards.
  • May be asked to identify, schedule, and assess clinical training sites for new hire sales training.
  • Produce monthly and bi-annual updates to track the performance and impact of sales training programs.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and field activities geared towards driving productivity of the sales organization.
  • Assist in the development of train-the-trainer programs for subject matter experts (SME) to enhance capabilities and impact of sales training programs.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors, evaluates new technologies, and arranges capability meetings with hi-potential strategic business partners.
  • Prioritize requests for sales personnel training on an individual and regional level.
  • Develop a template of training solutions that blends traditional classroom instruction, with informal learning, e-learning, and initiatives that promote continuous on-the-job training.
  • Support International training initiatives as needed.
EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 2 - 3 years clinical experience in minimally invasive endovascular and/or open surgery.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years documented sales experience preferred.
  • Experience selling disposable or small capital medical products preferred.
  • Experience selling BDPI devices preferred.
  • Extensive disease state knowledge as well as clinical experience in minimally invasive and surgical procedures required.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent business relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Proven success at performing responsibilities with a high degree of flexibility, adaptability, objectivity, discretion, appropriate demeanor and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning preferred; experienced stand-up trainer.
  • Compelling and articulate speaker who can manage a wide variety of audiences.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning and interpersonal skills.
  • Travel is required as needed, approximately 30%.
