Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing is seeking an experienced, full-time Safety Manager in Virginia, with travel required. The role involves developing safety plans, enforcing policies, and evaluating practices to ensure legal compliance across worksites.

You will train staff on health and safety matters, monitor adherence, inspect equipment, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence, while reporting metrics to leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Safety Manager.
• Five years safety-related experience in utility construction and/or telecommunications.
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
• Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of healthy and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes.
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
