Lambert's Cable Splicing in Virginia seeks a seasoned Safety Manager for full-time field duties, with travel required. You will develop safety plans, enforce policies, and lead incident investigations to prevent accidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role demands five years in safety within utility construction or telecom, strong Excel skills, and excellent written and spoken communication. Travel overnight is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Safety Manager.
• Five years safety-related experience in utility construction or telecommunications.
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to produce reports and develop policies.
• Strong PC skills including Excel.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to travel overnight.

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of healthy and safety.
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations.
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes.
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.

What you’ll do
