Job summary

Lambert's Cable Splicing Co. in Virginia is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to develop and implement health and safety programs in accordance with legal guidelines. This full-time role involves on-site responsibilities and travel.

You will lead training, policy development, and risk assessments, ensuring a culture of safety across operations in the telecommunications and utility construction sectors. Competitive benefits and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Safety Manager.
• Five years’ safety experience in utility construction and/or telecommunications.
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
• Ability to produce reports and develop relevant policies.
• Strong PC skills including Excel.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to travel overnight.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
• Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of healthy and safety
• Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
• Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
• Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
• Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
• Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes
• Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
• Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
