Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Manager, Rod Control & Position Indication Systems Engineering to lead and manage the engineering team of 15+ personnel at the New Stanton, PA facility. You will ensure safety, quality, and reliability while aligning projects with corporate goals.

Reporting to the Director, Safety & Reactor Sys Eng, this role focuses on resource development, strategic leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver customer-valued I&C solutions in the nuclear

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of leadership with preferred experience in instrumentation & control.
• Knowledge and experience in I&C systems.
• Nuclear knowledge and rod control experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrate the engineering of customer-oriented solutions which directly support profitability goals.
• Strong estimation, planning and execution of complex projects/programs.

About The Role

As a Manager, Rod Control & Position Indication Systems Engineering you will lead and manage the engineering team that designs and supports Rod Control & Position Indication Systems Engineering. Responsible as a resource and technical manager for 15+ personnel. Responsible for the effective operations of the Rod Control and Position engineering team and ensure standards of quality (including effective management of the corrective action program), cost (including utilization of resources to meet assigned targets), safety (both ensuring a Nuclear Safety Culture as well as personnel and Industrial safety), reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in engineering processes.

You will report to the Dir, Safety & Reactor Sys Eng.

• I&C Engineering & Manufacturing and be Hybrid out of the New Stanton, PA facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop resources and lead people development activities. Prepare and successfully implement training and development plans with emphasis on long-term resource needs.
• Focus on developing engineering skills to ensure added value to the customer.
• This includes providing feedback, evaluation for merit and promotion as well as addressing performance issues.
• Lead the team with a strategic focus, communicate vision for future and promote culture that aligns with organizational goals
• Develop culture that values a safety conscious work environment,, personalized customer service and human performance fundamentals.
• Develop valued I&C technical and leadership skills in organization to ensure “bench strength” and succession planning.
• Continually scans the environment to verify products and services are adding value to both the customer and Westinghouse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field. MBA preferred but not required.
• Minimum 10 years of leadership with preferred experience in instrumentation & control
• Knowledge and experience in I&C systems
• Prefer to have knowledge in nuclear knowledge and experience in the rod control and position indication systems but not required.
• Demonstrate the engineering of customer - oriented solutions which directly support Company's profitability goals.
• Demonstrated successful offer development skills in effectively estimating, planning and executing significantly complex projects/programs.
• Collaborates cross-functionally, as well as upstream and downstream, to create alignment and ensure work is done right the first time.
• Build consultative relationships with internal and external stakeholders: operations, maintenance, and engineering decision-makers to enhance Westinghouse's position as premier value-added supplier.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year.
