Job summary

Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Manager of Risk & Performance Improvement. This leadership role directs facility-wide PI and risk initiatives, maintaining policies and leading survey readiness.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, oversee committees, analyze data to improve clinical outcomes, and coordinate risk mitigation strategies aligned with the hospital's mission.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years clinical experience in psychiatric mental health.
  • 2+ years supervisory/management experience.
  • Knowledge of risk management, PI frameworks and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, plan, and implement hospital-wide PI and risk management initiatives.
  • Oversee the PI department and maintain up-to-date policies.
  • Lead survey readiness for external regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate liaison between clinical staff, medical staff, and department directors.
  • Facilitate hospital committees and ensure timely reporting.
  • Drive risk mitigation strategies to minimize institutional exposure.

Job Summary

As a key member of the hospital leadership team, the Manager of Risk & Performance Improvement directs, plans, and implements all facility-wide performance improvement (PI) and risk management initiatives. This leader oversees the PI department, maintains up-to-date policies, and leads survey readiness for external regulatory agencies. Acting as a vital liaison between multidisciplinary teams, medical staff, and department directors, the Manager facilitates vital hospital committees and ensures timely, accurate reporting. Additionally, the role proactively coordinates risk mitigation strategies to minimize institutional exposure while supporting the core philosophy and clinical objectives of the hospital.

Job Requirements
  • Clinical Expertise: 4+ years of clinical experience specializing in psychiatric mental health populations.
  • Leadership Track Record: 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role with a proven ability to develop teams.
  • Industry Acumen: Strong working knowledge of healthcare risk management, performance improvement frameworks, and regulatory/accrediting guidelines.
  • Technical Aptitude: Tech-savvy with proficiency in basic computer applications and experience analyzing data to drive clinical outcomes.
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
