Job summary

HCA Florida Ocala Hospital seeks a Manager of Respiratory Care to lead the Respiratory Care team, supervise operations, and ensure staffing, safety, and regulatory standards are met while delivering high-quality patient care.

The role reports to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services and requires ACLS, NRP, PALS within 90 days, an associate degree, and state credentials; leadership and the ability to perform under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

  • ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • PALS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree required.
  • State credentials: CRT/RRT/NBRC-RRT as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the Respiratory Care team and supervise operations.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, productivity, safety, quality and regulatory standards.
  • Direct staff training, professional development and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Deliver patient care as needed and communicate effectively with patients and families.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Job Summary:

The Manager, Respiratory Care provides leadership to the Respiratory Care team. The incumbent will supervise the Respiratory Care team to meet the needs of patients, physicians, and staff by ensuring excellence in all aspects of the Respiratory Department's operations. Ensures appropriate staffing and productivity levels, develops/monitors performance and productivity improvement, safety, quality and regulatory standards. Ensures excellence in customer service; assists in managing continuous improvement of processes and functions. Accountable for on-going training and professional development of staff. Accountable for adherence to state and federal rules and regulations; ensures compliance with TJC, other federal, state and local agencies. Performs clinical and related duties as required. The Manager, Respiratory Care must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to direct care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Reports to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services. Must have excellent clinical skills to serve as a resource for the staff and also provide patient care as needed. Must be able to interact with patients and families in a positive manner. Must be able to work with a high degree of independence and possess the ability to make decisions quickly and be able to work in high stress situations and retain concentration.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

  • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

  • Associate Degree required

  • (CRT-State) Certified Respiratory Therapist, or (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner, or (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist is required

  • 1 year of experience required
