Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Orange Park, FL is seeking a Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy to lead the Respiratory Care Services and oversee shift operations. The role focuses on safe, high-quality patient care and staff supervision within a dynamic hospital environment.

Responsibilities include leading daily operations, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, performing respiratory assessments, and administering prescribed modalities.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a two-year accredited respiratory care program.
  • Associate degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Florida licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire.
  • ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in clinical respiratory therapy in an acute hospital environment.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and are responsible for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments and staff on a daily basis
  • Ensure department's standards of practice, policies and procedures meet legal and accrediting/regulatory requirements
  • Conduct respiratory assessments of patients as indicated within scope of practice

Our Respiratory department is a committed, caring group of colleagues. We are currently seeking a Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy and will provide you the tools and resources you need to succeed in our organization. As a Supervisor on our Respiratory team, you will provide supervision for all aspects of Respiratory Care Services and will be responsible for shift operations of the department.

Your duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Provide leadership and are responsible for the delivery of safe, quality, patient care for assigned departments and staff on a daily basis
  • Ensure department's standards of practice, policies and procedures meet legal and all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements
  • Conduct respiratory assessments of patients as indicated within scope of practice
  • Administer medications and perform various clinical modalities as prescribed by physicians
Requirements:
  • Completion of a two-year accredited respiratory care program
  • Associate Degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Clear/active Florida licensure: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire
  • Required within 6 months of hire:
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in clinical respiratory therapy in an acute hospital environment
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred
