The University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine is seeking a Project Manager B to lead a large, multi-year patient-centered trial. You will support the Sr.

PM and PM-C, oversee protocol development, study setup, and implementation of study workflows, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include data management, IRB correspondence, budget tracking, staff supervision, and communication with the funder and investigators.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA with 5–7 years, or MS/MA with 3–5 years of related experience.
  • Experience with behavioral interventions required.
  • Strong organizational and self-starter with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; regulatory compliance knowledge.
  • Experience with data management and IRB processes.

Job Description Summary

Responsible for both strategic planning and day to day management of a complex and broad range of projects conducted with collaborators both internal and external to the University. Leads development of study protocols, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations.

Job Description

This Project Manager (PM-B) position will support the Sr. Project Manager (PM-C) and Project Director to oversee the launch and intervention of a large, multi-year, patient-centered trial that tests whether increasing physical activity can reduce major cardiovascular events. The Project Manager B will be responsible for protocol development, study set-up, and implementation of study workflows. They will oversee study data management activities, including data collection, database maintenance, quality control, and data reporting. They will monitor data for completeness, accuracy, and protocol adherence through routine quality assurance reviews and data audits. The Project Manager B will oversee screening and enrollment, data collection via electronic processes, study document development and management, daily conduct and management of study interventions.

They will assist the Project Manager C in tracking and managing study budgets. They will hire, train and supervise research staff. The PM-B will be responsible for IRB correspondence and regulatory compliance and tracking of medical incidents and adverse events. The PM-B will communicate regularly with leadership on progress and assist with the preparation and submission of reports, manuscripts and publications. The Project Manager B will have demonstrated strong research and administrative skills. They will support the PM C and study team in communicating with both internal and external stakeholders including the investigative team, faculty and site investigators, the funder, vendors, consultants, the web design team and other internal and external entities. They will coordinate study meetings, oversee trial enrollment, technology intervention implementation and testing, and study communications. They will work alongside the Sr. Project Manager to provide oversight of the research throughout the intervention while delegating daily study management to the research team.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 5 to 7 years or Master of Science, Master of Arts, and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Experience with behavioral interventions required. The successful candidate will be extremely well organized and resourceful. They must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter with results orientation.

Understanding of regulatory compliance issues required. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively both independently and as part of a team.

High accuracy, dependability and attention to detail will be vital to the success in the position. Expert in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams) as well as comfort and experience in data management, including web-based database platforms (REDCap) and remote monitoring technology solutions.

Position is contingent upon continued funding.
