Job summary

UT San Antonio is seeking a Grants & Research Administrator to establish DPRIT operating procedures and oversee pre- and post-award activities. You will coordinate with faculty, staff, and investigators, manage deadlines and budgets, and ensure compliance with regulations and institutional policies.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 7 years in research administration, along with strong MS Office and REDCap proficiency.

  • Must be able to come into the office three times a week.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and REDCap.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and coordinate DPRIT grant operating procedures and pre- and post-award practices.
  • Support management of DPRIT by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, faculty, staff, and study principal investigators.
  • Execute DPRIT grant management activities, including deadlines, risk management, and fiscal operations.
  • Assist in negotiating research contracts.
  • Develop and maintain documents for the DPRIT grant application process.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and local regulations and alignment with UT San Antonio and research policies.
  • Maintain communication with the investigative team.
  • Provide staff training and research oversight.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

  • Maintain communication with the investigative team
  • Provide staff training and research oversight
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently with faculty and staff with minimal supervision
  • Strong multitasking skills, including meeting competing deadlines and prioritizing
  • Ability to support the investigator team
  • Strong ethics and professionalism
  • Must be able to come into the office three (3) times a week
  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • Seven (7) years experience in research or related administration is required
  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48 may be required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data capture systems such as REDCap
