Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a senior Research Operations Manager to partner with leadership in expanding the department's research mission. You will oversee bench and clinical research, manage lab staff, and coordinate across divisions within the Department of Pediatrics and other departments.

The role focuses on HR activities, performance management, and establishing SOPs, while facilitating collaborations with internal and external stakeholders and supporting fellowship program

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field is required.
• At least 8 years of clinical and/or bench research experience is required.
• Experience leading research teams and cross-department collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development of bench and clinical research; collaborate with Enterprise divisions.
• Manage clinical research coordinators, research assistants, data manager; lead HR activities.
• Oversee all aspects of research operations, project direction, and team administration with SOPs.
• Lead recruitment strategies, consenting, enrollment, and sample/survey collection policies.
• Serve as contact for project leaders; organize key project meetings and workshops.
• Support expansion of the pediatric fellowship program; assist with progress reports and grants.

Job description

Position Summary

Partner with leadership to target department's operation and expansion of the department's research mission. Oversee development of the research. Lead the fostering strong cross departmental and cross institutional relationships and collaborations with divisions across the Department of Pediatrics and other Departments at BCH. Responsible for Lab employees, workload distribution, Performance Management process etc. Manages communication between bench and clinical staff and internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• * Oversee development of the bench and clinical research. Collaborative partnership with Enterprise, to include: BCH Clinical Trials Group, Experimental Therapeutics and Interventional Trials Center, Informatics, and other labs.
• * Manages clinical research coordinators, research assistants, data manager etc. Responsible for Human Resources activities i.e. recruitment, onboarding, Performance Management, and discipline; provides leadership, mentoring and training as appropriate.
• * Responsible for all aspects of research operations, project direction and team administration for the Research Team. In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, develops protocol implementation guidelines and standard operating procedures.
• * Responsible for recruitment strategies, consenting, enrollment, sample and survey collection policies.
• * Serve as a point of contact for project leaders and stakeholders; lead in organizing key project meetings and workshops.
• * Help to facilitate expansion of the Division's pediatric fellowship program. Assist with compilation of data for progress reports, grant submissions, and publications.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• * A master's degree in a related field is required.

Experience:

• * At least 8 years of clinical and/or bench research experience is required

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
