Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. seeks a Shop/Field Supervisor to direct and manage service operations at the location. You will coordinate shop and field workflows, ensure appropriate staffing, and uphold safety regulations to deliver timely, quality service.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with diesel tech training, 2–3 years in a lead role, and 5+ years in diesel tech, ideally Caterpillar. Proficiency in MS Office and basic database systems is expected.

Position Summary

This position will direct and manage the shop and/or field functions of the relative location. This includes but not limited to coordinating and managing workflow of shop and/ or field; maintain communications between all parties, ensure shop is appropriately staffed, ensure the shop is in compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines, and other leadership duties.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the day-to-day service operations of a shop and/or field location, which includes monitoring all work and overseeing all work order functions
• Meet all safety goals of the department and promote a safe work environment through good housekeeping, elimination of safety hazards, responsiveness to employee suggestions etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with established corporate standards. Oversees day to day operations of the unit. Reviews and evaluates the work and performance of reporting employees. Has significant input regarding hiring and disciplining employees

Position Requirements

Required

• Knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through a high school education or the equivalent with additional training preferred through a vocational school with studies in diesel technology.
• 2-3 years of experience in a Lead or Supervisory role

Preferred

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in diesel technology, preferably with Caterpillar.

• Major responsibilities typically require a modest amount of creativity and latitude. Employee typically operates under general instructions with some established procedures and policies
• If an error is made while in this position, it will require moderate effort to identify the error and can create a moderate impact on the company financially
