Job summary

AES in Indiana is seeking a Sr Manager, Regulatory Affairs to lead a small team responsible for designing tariffs and preparing testimony for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. The role coordinates filings and provides financial, technical, and regulatory analysis to support senior management.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred, and substantial utility experience with strong Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills, leadership ability, and proven written testimony

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • CPA certification is highly valued.
  • Licensed engineering background or an MBA is a strong asset.
  • Seven to ten years of related utility experience.
  • Computer proficiency including Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, including testimony before the Commission.
  • Leadership / supervisory experience and mentoring & training.
  • Results oriented with ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, leads, and trains rates and regulatory analysts.
  • Reviews and comments on proposed legislation and regulatory rules.
  • Designs tariffs and prepares testimony for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
  • Coordinates filings with and testifies before the Indiana Regulatory Commission.
  • Provides financial, technical, and regulatory analysis for audits and filings.
  • Assimilates technical/economic information into rate design.
  • Supports settlement strategy and negotiations.
  • Leads and performs analysis to support leadership decisions.

Under limited supervision, the Sr Manager, Regulatory Affairs is responsible for leading a small team responsible fordesigning tariffs and prepare testimony to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission coordinatingfilings with and testifyingbefore the Indiana Regulatory Commission providingfinancial, technical, and regulatory analysis supporting senior management assimilatingtechnical and economic information into rate design, andreviewing and providing comment on proposed State and Federal legislation and proposed rules and regulations.

  • Designs tariffs and prepares testimony to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
  • Coordinates filings with and testifies before the Indiana Regulatory Commission.
  • Provides financial, technical, and regulatory analysis supporting audits, regulatoryfilingsand senior management.
  • Assimilates technical and economic information into rate design.
  • Supports settlement strategy and negotiations.
  • Leads and prepares analysis andresearch to support leadership decision-making and strategy
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelorsdegreerequired.
  • Graduatedegreepreferred.
  • CPA certification is highly valued.
  • A licensed engineering background or an MBA is considered a strong asset.
  • Seven to ten years of related utility experience.
  • Computerproficiencyrequiredto include Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including experience with written testimony before the Commission
  • Leadership / direct supervisoryexperience /mentoring & training
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with limited direct supervision
