Job summary

Responsibilities

• Partner with CTO, CMO, and GRA leadership to support long-range planning, annual operating plans, and forecasts.
• Lead financial support for R&D Enabling Functions, including monthly and quarterly variance analysis and executive-ready reporting.
• Support monthly/quarterly close and accruals with accurate post-close adjustments and budget reporting.
• Lead enterprise innovation pipeline analytics and develop models and dashboards for prioritization decisions.
• Own financial modeling and business case development for R&D investments with cross-functional validation.
• Support capital appropriation governance and track performance against approved business cases.
• Drive FP&A process improvements in collaboration with Accounting and broader FP&A teams.
• Translate complex data into clear insights for ELT, Board discussions, and ad hoc analyses.

The role will play a critical part in enhancing transparency, rigor, and consistency in innovation investment decisions and capital allocation processes.The position reports to the Director, Corporate Enabling Functions FP&A and collaborates extensively across Finance, R&D, Global Supply Chain, the Office of Transformation Management, and Corporate Development.SUPERVISION RECEIVEDThis position reports directly to the Director, Corporate Enabling Functions FP&A.SUPERVISION EXERCISEDThe position may directly manage and develop one or more Finance professionals and provide mentorship across the broader FP&A organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below.Partner with CTO, CMO, and GRA leadership to support long-range planning, annual operating plans, and forecasts, providing clear insights into drivers of spend, risks, and opportunitiesLead financial support for R&D Enabling Functions, including monthly and quarterly variance analysis, trend monitoring, and preparation of executive-ready reporting and insightsSupport the monthly and quarterly close process, including preparation of accurate accruals, alignment with Accounting and FP&A on post-close adjustments, and delivery of timely and actionable actual vs. budget reportingLead enterprise innovation pipeline analytics, developing models, dashboards, and insights to provide visibility into R&D investments and support prioritization and trade-off decisionsOwn financial modeling and business case development for R&D investments, applying consistent methodologies (e.g., NPV, IRR, risk-adjusted returns) and partnering cross-functionally to challenge assumptions and enhance decision qualitySupport capital appropriation governance processes, ensuring rigor and consistency in investment submissions, reviewing proposals for financial integrity and alignment, and tracking performance against approved business casesDrive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and forecast accuracy, in collaboration with Accounting and broader FP&A teamsTranslate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights, and prepare materials for Executive Leadership Team (ELT), Board discussions, and ad hoc strategic analysesDESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for this position.Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required; MBA preferred3-7+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, Finance, or related rolesExperience supporting R&D, life sciences, or other highly regulated environments strongly preferredStrong financial modeling skills and demonstrated experience developing investment business casesProven ability to analyze complex financial and non-financial data and translate into actionable insightsDemonstrated success operating in a cross-functional, matrixed organization and influencing senior stakeholdersStrong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsAdvanced Excel skills required; experience with financial planning systems (specifically OneStream) a plusAdditional details:This role is hybrid between Princeton, NJ and remote. Office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.Salary Pay Range:$109,250.00 - $149,500.00 USD SalaryOur salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for bonus, commission, equity or other variable compensation.
