Seeking an experienced Rehab Manager to provide both clinical and operational leadership within a multidisciplinary outpatient rehabilitation setting. Leadership experience preferred. Neuro rehabilitation experience strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will be passionate about patient outcomes, team development, and driving operational excellence.

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing leadership and directing all activities/services for an area of service within the Rehabilitation Division of WellStar Health System; assumes responsibility for implementing standards of practice, departmental policies and procedures, and maintaining and improving the quality of patient care delivered; assures staff and program compliance with established standards, practices, policies/procedures and regulatory requirements; responsible for overall standards of patient care, financial performance, human resource management, patient/customer satisfaction, appropriate reporting and for coordinating program functions with the operations of other hospital departments to assure quality services at a reasonable cost for patients; responsible for directing age specific rehabilitative practices that address the biological, developmental, psychosocial and clinical needs of the patient and/or family. Creates an environment which enables the system to fulfill its mission and goals, fosters communication and collaborative practice with physicians and other departments.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Coordinates delivery of Patient Care

• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for the delivery of care based upon an understanding of current clinical/technological advances in rehabilitative care
• Continually assesses current trends/clinical/technological advances in the area of practice and takes appropriate action to improve functional outcomes, patient satisfaction and cost effective care
• Reviews and updates department/program specific standards/policies/procedures as needed to assure compliance with established standards, standardization efforts and current practice
• Oversees the daily operation of the program and, in collaboration with physicians, appropriately adapts patient care processes to the assessed needs of the patient/family
• Assess, provides for the delivery of and evaluates rehabilitative practices and insures quality of services delivered within the program
• Ensures that all staff collaborate in the discharge planning process and patient/family education to enable the system to deliver services more cost effectively in the most appropriate setting to meet patient needs

• Promotes a positive environment to patients, families, staff and the community
• Responds to inquiries and complaints effectively and timely and promotes a positive, professional image serving as a liaison between rehabilitative staff, physicians, and administration

• Accepts responsibility for employee morale and team performance toward goal achievement. Develops measurable, team goals, monitors progress and keeps staff abreast of progress toward achievement

Human Resources

• Participates in the selection of qualified personnel to ensure competent and adequate staffing
• Assures compliance with System and facility policies and procedures, standards of practice and documentation standards for all staff
• Maintains ongoing log of performance on all staff
• Establishes, monitors and evaluates staff competency and performance
• Recognizes staff for achievements through positive feedback
• Oversees the continuing education activities of the staff and encourages continual learning for all staff; including staff participation in both required and elective in services or educational programs
• Provides for system and departmental orientation of all new employees and verifies credentials and competency of any agency staff utilized

Liaison for Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance

• Coordinates with the Director of Rehabilitation Services on compliance and regulatory standards
• Develops/implements professional standards for the program based upon recognized standards of care, JCAHO and CARF standards, state/federal regulations and overall system policies and procedures
• Monitors staff compliance of regulatory standards

Fiscal Accountability

• Assists with the development and implementation of operational and capital budgets that are consistent with system-wide, facility/divisional goals and objectives
• Assists with the establishment of productivity measures and facilitates program and team achievement of established goals
• Maintains FTE, salary and expense budgets at or below budgeted levels, demonstrating the ability to review/analyze current/historical data relevant to budget variances
• Assists with the development of collaborative approaches that promote quality, cost-effective rehabilitative services across the continuum
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

Required Minimum Education:

Bachelors Nursing or Bachelors Counseling or Masters Physical Therapy or Masters Occupational Therapy or Masters Speech Pathology or Masters Social Work or Doctorate Physical Therapy

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

CRC - Cert Rehabilitation Counselor or LCSW - Lic Clinical Social Worker GA or LMSW - Lic Master Social Worker GA or OT - Occupational Therapist or PT - Physical Therapist or RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact or SLP - Speech Language Pathologist

Required Minimum Experience:

Minimum 5 years in the management of a multidisciplinary staff in the field of rehabilitative services Preferred and Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a hospital environment

Required Minimum Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate team dynamics is necessary

Time management skills, leadership skills, prioritization skills and change management skills are necessary to focus on goal achievement for the system
