Manager, Practice Innovation

Are you ready to make your mark as part of the Practice Innovation Team in our London office?



The Manager for Practice Innovation will play a crucial role in advancing the Firm's innovation and AI strategy. Working closely with the Senior Manager for Practice Innovation, the Practice Solutions team, and relevant practice group leads, the Manager for Practice Innovation will support the Firm's innovation journey, with a particular focus on leveraging established and emerging AI technologies to transform client service delivery.



The Practice Innovation Team is part of the Innovation & AI team and serves as the primary interface between lawyers and the Practice Solutions function. Practice Innovation will operate within the existing Innovation Champions structure and collaborate with priority Regional Sections as well as Key and Priority Clients to source ideas and drive initiatives aligned with Firm strategy.




Key Responsibilities



Client Consultancy, Thought Leadership, and Advocacy



  • Supporting conversations with Firm clients around innovation and AI, providing value-added innovation consultancy services in line with the Firm's Client Innovation Strategy

  • Acting as an advocate for Firmwide innovation by participating in internal events, roundtables, conferences, and social media, while creating high-impact thought leadership to enhance the Firm's reputation for innovation

  • Developing key artifacts (e.g., presentations, reports, and guidance materials) to assist client and internal engagement on legal innovation



Practice Innovation



  • Leading engagement with regional practice groups, developing relationships as a trusted advisor to support their innovation efforts Fostering and maintaining these relationships through active conversations, training, and tailored resource allocation

  • Working with key practice groups to develop innovation initiatives using the Firm's innovation frameworks, ensuring a strategic and business-aligned focus

  • Gathering practice requirements and feeding them into the wider Practice Solutions team to ensure alignment with Firm priorities



AI Centre of Excellence



  • Serving as a Product Owner, ensuring that AI-driven tools and solutions are developed and evaluated with practice needs in mind

  • Acting as the communication bridge between practice teams and the AI Centre of Excellence, ensuring clear expectations, structured feedback loops, and alignment of AI initiatives with legal workflows







Qualifications and Skills




  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Experience in AI, change management, or advisory services within a consulting firm (ideally Big 4)

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality service to clients

  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, particularly Generative AI, and their implications for professional services

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and project management skills, with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration

  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making and innovation

  • Experience in developing strategic partnerships and managing external vendor relationships

  • Experience working in a global law firm environment, with a strong understanding of lawyer workflows across key practice areas

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to driving innovation and digital transformation

  • Strong communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear and accessible language for diverse stakeholders

  • Expertise in change management, with the ability to guide teams through digital transformation challenges

  • Knowledge of ethical considerations, regulatory standards, and industry best practices related to AI deployment

Location and Reporting



This role is based in our London office and reports to the Senior Manager, Practice Innovation.



Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week.
