LegitScript is seeking a Manager, Policy and Compliance - Certification to oversee certification compliance frameworks and monitor regulatory changes across jurisdictions. You will translate complex policies into clear guidance for clients and internal stakeholders while guiding the certification team's escalation-based support.

Collaborate with legal and research teams, lead SMEs, and drive process improvements, including annual standards refresh, client calls, and cross-functional initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Lead subject matter experts (SMEs) for Certification program offerings, staying informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and market changes.
  • Report on key regulatory shifts and trends tailored to different levels of the organization, with documentation outlining insights and forecasting impacts.
  • Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen certification standards, streamline compliance operations, and scale P&C's processes.
  • Oversee and update compliance frameworks as needed, including leading the annual Certification Standards Refresh.
  • Join customer calls to support compliance client-facing work.
  • Support Sales with documentation needs, scoping decisions, and client questions.
  • Develop policy team members through coaching, feedback, and growth planning; monitor team capacity and KPIs.
  • Partner with the Certification Innovation Leader to identify opportunities to introduce AI and automation into policy workflows.
  • Partner with the legal team on denials, escalations, and litigation concerns; join calls and create documentation to support risk framework.
  • Support scope expansions by researching regulatory facts, guiding decisions about requirements and feasibility.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Policy and Compliance team, including hiring and coaching; uphold core values.

Overview:

The Manager, Policy and Compliance - Certification is responsible for overseeing Certification's compliance frameworks and proactively monitoring industry trends, laws, and regulations to keep the Certification business unit ahead of regulatory change. At its core, this role ensures the certification team stays current on regulatory developments and partners with cross-functional teams to effectively integrate policy expertise into Certification Operations. A core part of this work involves translating complex policy and technical regulatory requirements into clear, plain language that clients and internal stakeholders can easily understand and act on.

This role also oversees the Policy and Compliance team's escalation-based support for analysts' review work, providing guidance and hands-on support when compliance-related escalations arise during application and monitoring reviews. A key part of this role involves partnering closely with the legal and research team to ensure internal compliance frameworks remain current, certification standards and terms and conditions are updated as needed, and escalations related to denials, suspensions, and certification operations are adequately addressed — including joining external calls as needed.

This role also carries responsibility for leading critical calls with clients around complex compliance concerns and considerations, at times requiring close coordination with LegitScript’s legal team given the sensitive nature of these conversations.

As the leader of Certification's subject matter expertise, the Manager, Policy and Compliance, will partner closely with the Director of Certification Program Risk Strategy in guiding certification jurisdictional and scope expansions.

What You'll Do:

  • Report on key regulatory shifts and trends tailored to different levels of the organization, offering documentation outlining insights, key takeaways, and forecasting potential business impacts and opportunities.
  • Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen certification standards, streamline compliance operations, and scale P&C's processes to keep pace with jurisdictional, regulatory, and business growth
  • Oversee and update compliance frameworks as needed, including leading the annual Certification Standards Refresh.
  • Join customer calls as needed to support compliance client-facing work.
  • Support Sales with documentation needs/requests, scoping decisions, and client questions.
  • Develop policy team members through coaching, feedback, and growth planning; monitor team capacity and provide recommendations to leadership when adjustments to the Policy and Compliance team's structure or resourcing are needed.
  • Partner with theCertification Innovation Leader to identify ongoing opportunities to introduce AI and automation into policy and compliance workflows, improving efficiency and accuracy
  • Partner with the legal team on denials, escalations, suspensions, litigation concerns, and other matters as needed — joining calls and creating documentation to support the Certification compliance risk framework
  • Support the Director of Certification Program Risk Strategy on scope expansions by conducting discovery into the relevant regulatory facts, helping guide decisions about regulatory requirements and operational feasibility, creating documentation, and supporting team upskilling.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Policy and Compliance team, including hiring, coaching, and holding team members accountable to KPIs and performance standards.
  • Actively engage in behaviors that reflect LegitScript’s core values.

  • 2-4 years of experience managing people and/or policy & compliance related programs.
