LA28 seeks a Manager, Planning Venue Technology to lead the integration and planning of technology services across Olympic venues in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of technology project management experience (or 3+ years in program management), a PM qualification, and advanced Smartsheet proficiency; Tableau

Responsibilities

  • Support program management and reporting for Venue Technology Services (VTS).
  • Produce regular internal communications and venue technology updates.

  • Monitor departmental workflows to keep teams on task and projects on schedule.
  • Collaborate with Telecoms, Service Delivery, Results and Cyber Security teams.
  • Oversee day-to-day VTS administrative operations and ensure documentation compliance.
  • Provide admin support across VTS functions including change control and logistics.
  • Manage a small team of direct reports delivering support to the wider VTS team.

Manager, Planning Venue Technology

Venue Technology (VTS)is responsible forthe integration and planning of technology services across all Olympic and Paralympic Games venues, as well as the delivery of audio-visual (AV) equipment and services. Additionally, Venue Technology leads the Technology Equipment Allocation Process (TEAP), which ensures demand from other FunctionalAreas (FA) across the Organizing Committee (OC) is planned and managed to align with needs and budget.

Venue Technologycomprises ofa Central Team as well as Manager, Venue Technology (VTM)assigned to each Games venue.As a member oftheCentral Team, this rolewill supportProgramManagement andmonitoringacross thedifferent phasesof the program lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Support the program management and reporting function for VTS, interfacing with other key FA’s including Venues andInfrastructure,Planning and Programs, Energy and Logistics.

Manage, and execute regular internal departmental communications, and create and distribute periodic venue technology updates.

Assistinmanaging and updatingthe Venue Technology Implementation Plan.

Proactivelymonitordepartmental workflows to ensure that teamsremainon task and projects are delivered on schedule across multiple concurrent workstreams

SupportTelecoms,Service Delivery, Results and Cyber Securityteams to ensure requirements are accurately translated into actionable implementation plans.

Oversee day-to-dayVTSadministrativeoperations ensuring compliance andtimelydocumentationcreation,completionor submission.

Provide administrative and operational support across VTS functions, including change control, internal communications, mobilization, andlogistics.

Undertakeadditionaltasks as they become required due to the unpredictable nature of event delivery.

Manage a small team of direct reportsto deliver support to the wider VTS team.

Background and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administrationor relevant experience.

A formal project or program management qualification (e.g.Prince2, MSP, PMIetc) isrequiredfor this role.

5+years of experience in technology projectmanagement,or 3 years of program management,ideally within live events, venue operations, or large-scale infrastructure environments.

Proven ability to manage tasks and timelines with precision, delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

Demonstrated ability to influence andpersuadecolleaguesto ensuredelivery of milestones or reporting deadlines.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; known for staying on task andmaintainingstructured workflows across multiple concurrent projects.

Advancedproficiencyin Smartsheet is essential.Skills in using Tableauor similar toolswill be considered aplus.

Possessesan obsessive attention to detail and a relentless drive for perfection, anability to juggle multiple complextaskssimultaneouslywhilemaintainingaccuracy.

Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate procedural information into clear, concise, and actionable language for diverse audiences (technical teams, vendors, and non-technical stakeholders).

PhysicalRequirementsand Working Conditions

Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.

The majority ofwork will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.

The LA28 office is anopen floorplanworking environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in anopen cubicleenvironment.

Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.

Perform other duties asrequired; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $115,000. The pay scaleprovidedis the range that LA28reasonably expectsto pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensationremainssubject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
