The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) seeks a Manager – Physical Inspection to oversee the long-term physical inspection program for IHDA-assisted developments. This position is housed within the Asset Management Department, which monitors the long-term physical, financial, operational, and administrative compliance of IHDA-assisted developments. The Manager – Physical Inspection position is part of the Contract Administration team.
The Contract Administration team coordinates operations and compliance with the Portfolio Analysis and Project Operations Compliance teams, as well as external development partners, to ensure the long-term physical condition and contractual compliance of IHDA-assisted developments. Core responsibilities include overseeing physical inspection compliance, administering Section 811/SRN/Mod-Rehab contracts, and managing data integrity, reporting, and system workflows across IHDA platforms.
Bachelor's degree required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education at the discretion of the Asset Management Department. At least five years of experience conducting inspections, bid reviews, and physical needs assessments for federally financed affordable multifamily rental housing developments. At least three years of supervisory experience.
General physical inspection, NSPIRE, and REAC training are required and must be completed within one year or at the earliest available training date, whichever is later.
Alternate between sitting, standing, and walking; ascend and descend stairs; crouch and stoop; push and pull; reach overhead and below; perform repetitive movements including filing, keyboarding, and copying; lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range: $94,997.50–$118,746.88
