Job description

Candid Color Photography & Party Pics is seeking a Photography Manager to lead and grow a 30+ team of photographers and support staff across a wide range of event photography services, including sports, social events, graduations, proms and preschool/daycare photography.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staffing, training, event execution, quality control, and team performance. The ideal candidate is a people-focused leader with strong operational and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This opportunity plays a key role in shaping team culture, improving operational efficiency and driving exceptional customer experiences while supporting continued company growth.

Responsibilities and Preferred Experience
  • Lead, coach, and develop a 30+ team of photographers and support staff.
  • Oversee daily photography operations, ensuring successful staffing, scheduling, and event execution.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and train team members to maintain high performance and consistent service quality.
  • Design and implement effective training programs to maintain quality and consistency across all events.
  • Manage and maintain photography equipment and inventory, including cameras, lighting, and related gear.
  • Analyze performance metrics and operational data to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and customer service.
  • Maintain high standards for photographic quality and delivery service to ensure exceptional customer experience.
  • Ability to set photography goals to correlate with sales goals.
  • Motivate and incentivize staff to meet and exceed performance and sales goals.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to handle real-time issues during events with equipment and staff.
Education/Training
  • A bachelor’s degree in photography, Visual Arts, Business Administration, Communication, Computer Science, Management or a related field preferred or commensurate photography experience.
  • Certification or coursework in event management or photography a plus.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience of leadership or operations management experience in photography, events, hospitality or a related fast-paced service industry.
  • Familiarity with using event management software or photo production software.
