Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for the management and operation of the pharmacy department at a store level, including prescriptions, inventory control, customer service, regulatory compliance, and managing pharmacy staff.

Here’s what you’ll do:
  1. Manage all aspects of pharmacy operations including prescriptions, inventory, and customer service to achieve optimal outcomes.
  2. Ensure continued compliance with Federal and State regulations and company policies.
  3. Process and oversee new and refill requests efficiently and accurately.
  4. Maintain pharmacy records, including customer profiles, insurance forms, inventories, and control records.
  5. Manage and implement pharmacy programs such as security measures and clinical services.
  6. Prepare responses to third-party pharmacy audits as needed.
  7. Meet or exceed pharmacy operation metrics like profits, sales, and Rx counts.
  8. Provide leadership to pharmacy associates, fostering a positive, customer-focused store culture.
  9. Manage department staffing, training, performance, and development; develop department budgets.
  10. Stay updated on legal regulations, industry trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and improve programs.
  11. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Here’s what you’ll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or related field (Doctorate preferred).
  • Two years' experience as a pharmacist.
  • Valid Pharmacy License in good standing in the state of operation.
  • Immunization Certification (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA, pharmacy laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and work with associates at all levels.
  • Complete required continuing education and maintain licensure.
  • Knowledge of inventory procedures and management.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual skills (helpful based on region).
Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform other physical activities as needed. The environment is typical of a retail store, with varied temperatures and potential exposure to outside weather. Travel may be required.
