JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing operational and clinical activities, resource management, productivity, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance. They serve as an advisor to the unit and administration, setting goals and objectives for team members to achieve operational and quality results. The manager collaborates with hospital and department leaders to ensure compliance with legal and accreditation standards. They interpret policies related to fiscal management, HR, contracts, and resource management, demonstrating solid subject matter knowledge. The role involves exercising judgment within established procedures to determine appropriate actions, developing and implementing departmental policies, and supervising staff to ensure accountability and stewardship of resources, all in line with departmental goals and values of TGH.

The Pharmacy Manager also:

1. Identifies and recommends initiatives and programs for assigned areas.
2. Tracks and assesses the effectiveness of programs and practices to meet goals.
3. Hires, trains, develops, and retains employees with appropriate skills and fit for the department and organization.
4. Communicates performance expectations and provides feedback for development.
5. Champions employee engagement.
6. Participates in financial performance and operational budgeting.
7. Analyzes costs, develops programs to ensure budget compliance, and justifies variances.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy (PharmD or B.S. Pharm) and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 or PGY-2 residency, or equivalent experience.
• Current Florida Registered Pharmacist License.
• Experience: At least five (5) years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Management: Two (2) to three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience.
• Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities to manage multiple departments and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
