Job summary

Applicants should have a certified perfusion school background, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and state licensure as a Perfusionist in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Five years perfusion experience.
• Two years leadership experience.
• Perfusion Certification.
• Licensed Perfusionist in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Operate extracorporeal circulation and auto transfusion equipment during medical situations as needed.
• Consult with physicians to select appropriate equipment and techniques.
• Monitor and analyze physiologic parameters to ensure patient safety.
• Oversee evaluation, payroll management and supply management related to direct reports, reporting to the AVP of patient care services.

Short Description

• A Perfusionist operates extracorporeal circulation and auto transfusion equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or temporarily replace the patient’s circulatory or respiratory function.
• The Perfusionist is knowledgeable concerning the variety of equipment available to perform extracorporeal circulation and is responsible, in consultation with the physician, for selecting the appropriate equipment and techniques to be used.
• Perfusion” means the functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement, or supplementation of the cardiovascular, circulatory or respiratory system or other organs, or a combination of those activities, and to ensure the safe management of physiologic functions by monitoring and analyzing the parameters of the systems under an order and under the supervision of a licensed physician.
• Responsible for evaluation, position control, payroll management and supply management and usage related to direct reports providing input to the AVP of patient care services.

Experience Required

Five years perfusion experience required. Two years leadership experience.

Education Requirements

Graduate of a certified school of perfusion. Bachelor’s degree in related field.

License/Certification Requirements

Perfusion Certification. Licensed Perfusionist in the State of New Jersey.
