Job summary

Hearst Magazines in New York, NY, seeks an AsManager, Performance Marketing to shape and optimize paid acquisition strategies across channels. You will manage campaigns for memberships, email acquisition, direct products, and brand licensing, driving ROI and growth with a data-first approach.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years managing paid media, hands-on experience with Meta and Google, strong performance metrics knowledge, and excellent cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing paid media campaigns for a consumer business.
  • Hands-on experience with Meta, Google, and other paid acquisition platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of CPA, CPL, ROAS, conversion rates, and ROI.
  • Experience managing paid media budgets and using performance data to optimize campaigns.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to turn data into insights.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Curiosity for experimentation and AI-enabled marketing; coaching others is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute paid acquisition campaigns across Hearst Magazines’ portfolio.
  • Manage campaigns across social, search, and other channels with budgets and bidding strategies.
  • Lead creative testing and audience experiments, exploring AI-enabled opportunities.
  • Analyze campaign performance against KPIs and optimize for ROAS and CAC.
  • Collaborate with Analytics to evaluate attribution and impact.
  • Coordinate with Audience Growth, Integrated Marketing, Creative, Product, and Lifecycle teams.
  • Oversee campaign setup, QA, budget tracking, forecasting, reporting, and documentation.
  • Coach Associate Managers to develop performance marketing expertise.

Key Responsibilities (What You Are Doing)
  • Executepaid acquisition campaigns across Hearst Magazines’ portfolio, supporting memberships, email acquisition, direct products, and brand licensing.
  • Manage and optimizecampaigns across social, search, and other acquisition channels, including budgets, bidding strategies, audience targeting, pacing, and performance to drive efficient customer growth and maximize ROI.
  • Leadcreative testing and audience experimentation in partnership with Creative, including exploring AI-enabled creative development and emerging advertising opportunities.
  • Analyzecampaign performance against established benchmarks and KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve acquisition efficiency, conversion rates, ROAS, and long-term customer value.
  • Partnerwith Analytics to evaluate attribution, incrementality, and overall business impact, translating findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Collaboratewith Audience Growth, Integrated Consumer Marketing, Creative, Product, Lifecycle Marketing, and Analytics to execute integrated acquisition strategies and support broader growth objectives.
  • Overseecampaign setup, QA, budget tracking, forecasting, reporting, and documentation while identifying new platforms, capabilities, audience strategies, and industry trends worth testing.
  • Coach and supportAssociate Managers in developing performance marketing expertise while fostering a collaborative culture centered on experimentation, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Qualifications (What We’re Looking For)
  • 4+ years of experiencemanaging paid media campaigns for a consumer business.
  • Hands-on experience with Meta, Google, and other paid acquisition platforms, with a strong understanding of campaign setup, optimization, and measurement.
  • Strong knowledge of customer acquisition and performance marketing metrics, including CPA, CPL, ROAS, conversion rates, and ROI.
  • Experience managing paid media budgets and using performance data to inform campaign optimization and investment decisions.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex performance data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across creative, analytical, marketing, product, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for experimentation, AI-enabled marketing, emerging platforms, and continuous learning; experience coaching or supporting the development of colleagues is preferred.
  • This role is based inNew York Cityand follows ahybrid schedule requiring four days per week in the office.

The base salary range for this role is$76,000-$82,400. This position is not eligible for bonus or commission compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
