Job summary

The New York Philharmonic seeks a Manager, Patron Program to lead two donor communities, Patron Program and Young New Yorkers, and to support engagement, events, and fundraising across both programs. The role works directly with donors, supervises a Development Associate, and partners with the Development team to coordinate outreach and experiences.

The position requires at least 3 years in development, ability to manage multiple priorities, and strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

About the Role

The New York Philharmonic seeks a Manager, Patron Program to join the Development team. This role leads two key individual giving communities, the Patron Program (individual donors giving $3,000–$24,999) and Young New Yorkers (donors aged 21–45), supporting donor engagement, events, and fundraising efforts across both programs. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working directly with donors, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to a collaborative fundraising environment.

The position works directly with donors, supervises a Development Associate, and partners across the Development team to support outreach, engagement, and program coordination. The role also includes attendance at concerts, rehearsals, and events, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Your Day-to-Day

• Manage day-to-day coordination of the Patron Program and Young New Yorkers, including donor engagement and stewardship
• Build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of donors and prospects
• Support fundraising efforts and donor communications across both programs

What You Bring to the Team

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in development
• Experience in nonprofit, performing arts, or cultural organizations preferred
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders
• Experience working with a donor database (Tessitura preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Compensation & Work Arrangement

Salary Range: $73,000–$76,500

This position operates in a hybrid work environment. Candidates should expect a regular in-office presence, particularly during the first several months, to support onboarding, relationship building, and operational integration. Ongoing hybrid flexibility is available based on role responsibilities and organizational needs.
