Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee the Laboratory’s departmental operations under the Director. You will ensure safe, compliant point of care testing and manage offsite areas, aligning with the hospital’s mission and quality standards.

The role requires strong collaboration with nursing, administrative and medical staff to coordinate patient care and drive continuous improvement across the laboratory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a closely related field is required.
• Master's degree in Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.
• 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee departmental operations of the Laboratory under the direction of the Director.
• Ensure compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas.
• Collaborate with nursing, administrative, medical and other staff to coordinate patient care activities.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Master's degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred

Work Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
• Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required
