Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee departmental operations under the Director. The role includes administrative duties, oversight of point of care testing and offsite areas, and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality performance for staff, patients, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 in supervision, plus MT certification and HT/CT credentials as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or closely related field is required.
• Master's in Business Administration or Health Administration is preferred.
• 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Certification in medical technology and ASCP/AMT/AAB credentials required for MT; histology certifications required for HT/CT.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Master's degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred

Work Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
• Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required
