Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee departmental operations under the Director. The role ensures compliance of point-of-care testing and support for offsite areas, while maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality performance standards for staff, patients, and visitors.

Collaborate with nursing, administrative, medical colleagues to coordinate patient care activities and identify system improvements as opportunities for enhancement.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field.
• MBA or Health Admin degree preferred for leadership.
• 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in supervision.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Master's degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred

Work Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required
• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
• Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required
