Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee departmental operations under the Director, ensuring compliance for point-of-care testing and offsite areas. The role requires strong collaboration with nursing, medical, and administrative staff to support patient care and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have 5 years of clinical experience with at least 2 years in supervision, a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, and relevant laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required
• Master's degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred
• 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities
• Certification in medical technology and ASCP/AMT/AAB or equivalent required for Lab management; Histology certification for Anatomic Pathology management required

• Ensure administrative duties including oversight and compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas
• Monitor operations to maintain safe, efficient and high-quality performance for employees, patients and visitors

• Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) . AAB provisional certification not accepted Required
• Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required
