Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Behavioral Health Intake Clinician for a full-time role. You will assess patients and perform crisis evaluations, applying DSM-5 knowledge to support decisions that affect care.

Collaborating with internal and external teams, you will protect patient confidentiality while delivering compassionate service to adults and geriatric patients in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or related field is required.
• Current independent practice scope licensure in state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a psychiatric setting.
• Experience in crisis counseling and crisis evaluations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand legal issues for voluntary vs involuntary status (72 Hour Hold, EMTALA).
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers while maintaining confidentiality.
• Conduct crisis assessments including mental status exam, suicide and violence risk, and substance abuse.
• Knowledge of DSM-5 or current version.

How you'll contribute

A Behavioral Health Intake Clinician who excels in this role:

• Demonstrates effective understanding of legal issues associated with assessment/admission for Voluntary vs. Involuntary status, i.e. 72 Hour Hold, EMTALLA, and Mental Inquest Warrant processes as defined in state of practice.




• Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers as well as maintain patient/family confidentiality and provide sensitive, respectful, and compassionate customer service at all times.




• Ability to work with children, adolescents, adults (18 and over), or geriatric patients experiencing mental illness and acute psychiatric crisis.




• Capable of conducting crisis assessments that includes a mental status exam, suicide and violence assessment, substance abuse assessment, and preliminary diagnosis.




• Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder V (DSM V) or most current version.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a master's degree in social work or other related field of study. Additional requirements include:

• Behavioral Health and Psychiatry pending State requirements.




• Bachelor's/associate degree in nursing pending State requirements.




• Current independent practice scope licensure in state of practice, LMFT, LMFT-A LPC, LPC- A, LPCP, LCSW, LMSW, RN or LPN.




• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a psychiatric setting.




• Experience in crisis counseling and crisis evaluations preferred.

Hourly Range: $36.55-$47.21 per hour
