The Manager of Orthotics & Prosthetics is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the day-to-day activities of assigned staff; assuring provisions of quality orthotic/prosthetic devices are in accordance with Physician's prescription, and to act as a resource to staff, patients, families and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibility. Must be certified in both orthotics AND prosthetics.Key Responsibilities:This position functions independently oversees all clinical, technical, and administrative staff to fulfill the professional responsibilities patient confidentialityResponsible for planning, directing and managing the work of the Practitioners, O&P Technician staff, and Department Assistant staff on all day-to-day department operationsDemonstrates proficiency in OPIE (O&P Business Management Software)Establishes workflow and communication with Fabrication Center (Tampa) for all custom fabrication to endure safety and quality of all devices provided to patientsVORUM (CAD) useParticipation in all O&P leadership and workgroup calls and activitiesResponsible for obtaining and maintaining ABC facility accreditationAdheres to all SHC policies and procedures, and participates in local hospital management team and operationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree together with ABC approved Orthotic and Prosthetic certificate program and the successful completion of NCOPE residencies in both O&PMinimum Five years of Clinical and technical experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics fieldCurrent American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and licensure (when needed) requiredExperience working in a hospital or medical office with insurance authorizationPreferred Qualifications:Billing and documentation experience in O&P in the private sectorFamiliarity with O&P CodingFamiliarity with O&P regulatory compliance requirements is preferredExperience with O&P technical work such as casting, modification, adjustments, and repairsCfab workflow experienceExperience working closely with Rehab and Orthopaedics disciplines is preferredPrior supervisory experienceCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
