Job description

Position Summary

The Manager, Operations & Strategic Execution serves as a key strategic and operational partner to the Executive Vice President of Operations, helping translate business priorities into disciplined execution across the organization.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and execution. The manager will work closely with the EVP of Operations and operational leaders to establish priorities, drive accountability, improve operating rhythms, and ensure critical initiatives move from discussion to measurable results.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, business-minded, action-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple functions and levels of the organization. This individual must be equally capable of preparing an executive-level business review, working with leaders to solve an operational challenge, and following through to ensure commitments are delivered.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Executive Support

  • Serve as a trusted strategic and operational partner to the EVP of Operations.
  • Translate the EVP's priorities into clear action plans, milestones, ownership, and measurable outcomes.
  • Prepare the EVP for key operating reviews, leadership meetings, business discussions, and strategic decisions.
  • Identify issues requiring EVP attention and provide clear recommendations and potential solutions.
  • Ensure decisions and commitments made by the EVP and Operations Leadership Team are communicated, assigned, and executed.
  • Help maintain focus on the highest-impact priorities while reducing organizational noise and competing demands.

Operational Execution

  • Partner with operational leaders to drive consistent execution across regions, markets, branches, and/or business units.
  • Lead and coordinate high-priority operational projects and initiatives.
  • Establish clear milestones, owners, timelines, and success measures for key initiatives.
  • Track progress against operational commitments and proactively address barriers to execution.
  • Support the development and implementation of standardized operating processes and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, scalability, and the overall customer experience.
  • Step into critical operational issues when additional leadership, coordination, or problem-solving is required.

Business Performance & Accountability

  • Develop and maintain operational scorecards, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations leaders to understand performance against revenue, profitability, productivity, labor, customer, and other key operating metrics.
  • Identify performance gaps, trends, and emerging risks and ensure appropriate action plans are established.
  • Drive follow-through and accountability across the Operations organization.
  • Support annual planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance reviews as needed.

Leadership Operating Rhythm

  • Establish and manage a consistent operating cadence for the EVP and Operations Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate weekly and monthly operating reviews, including agendas, materials, decisions, action items, and follow-up.
  • Ensure leaders are prepared with the appropriate data, insights, and recommendations.
  • Create visibility into major priorities, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
  • Improve communication and alignment between corporate functions and field operations.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as a connector between Operations and key partners including Finance, Human Resources, Sales, Business Development, and other functions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives that directly impact operational performance.
  • Help resolve organizational barriers that prevent teams from executing effectively.
  • Ensure field and frontline perspectives are incorporated into operational decisions and improvement efforts.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization and influence outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.

Leadership Expectations

  • Lead with a people-first and business-focused mindset.
  • Operate with urgency while maintaining sound judgment.
  • Bring structure and clarity to complex or ambiguous situations.
  • Challenge constructively and respectfully when stronger outcomes are possible.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate strong executive presence and credibility with senior leaders.
  • Stay close to the business and understand the realities facing frontline teams.
  • Take ownership from identification of an issue through resolution.
  • Hold themselves and others accountable for commitments and results.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in operations, business management, project/program management, strategy, or related leadership roles.
  • Experience supporting or partnering directly with senior executives strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, financial performance, and operational KPIs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support capabilities.
  • Ability to influence leaders and drive accountability across functions.

Success in the Role
