Job summary

MTM Transit in Livermore, CA seeks a Manager, Operations to lead transit staff, including drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance, and to implement short- and long-term processes under contract. You will train, evaluate drivers, manage safety, and maintain a positive client relationship with the Central Contra Costa Transit Authority, ensuring safe, reliable service within budget.

Requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years in transit management, CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements, and Union

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in transit management.
• Experience in Para-Transit or livery industries preferred.
• Experience with senior citizens or persons with disabilities.
• Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment.
• Experience training in a classroom and behind the wheel setting.
• Experience managing a Union environment preferred.
• CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Transit Drivers, Dispatchers, and operations staff daily.
• Lead monthly Safety meetings.
• Train and update policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Conduct Driver evaluations per contract, ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements.
• Communicate regularly with client for updates and system upgrades.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
• Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance.

What will your job look like?

The Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training, and development of transit staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes. The Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations staff, primarily the drivers, maintenance, and dispatch staff to ensure that the daily operations and needs of the client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements. The Manager, Operations will strive to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers while operating within the budget of the contract.

This position is dependent on the award of contract.

Location: Livermore, CA Service: The Central Contra Costa Transit Authority

What you'll do

• Oversight of Transit Drivers, Dispatchers, and operations employees and their daily performance, to ensure safe, efficient, effective operation, including scheduling, expenditures, attendance and discipline
• Perform monthly Safety meetings
• Training, retraining and updates to policies, procedures and safety guidelines
• Perform Driver evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements
• Communicate regularly with client to ensure positive productive relationship, and to assist them with updates, information, and system upgrades as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required
• Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance

What you'll need

• Experience, Education & Certifications: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field
• 5+ years of experience in transit management
• Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries preferred
• Previous experience working with senior citizens or persons with disabilities
• Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment
• Experience training in a classroom and behind the wheel setting
• Experience in managing a Union environment preferred
• CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsements

Skills

• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to understand and administer discipline
• Knowledge of basic safety and training procedures
• Map reading, two-way radio communication and driving experience preferably in a demand responsive service environment
• Capabilities as it relates to data analytics preferred
• Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations preferred
• Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Regular attendance is required

Salary Min: $72,000/ annually

Salary Max: $103,000/ annually
