Job summary

Goldfish Swim School - Webster is seeking a Manager on Duty to oversee daily operations, staffing, pool operations, cash handling, customer service, and retail activities. You will lead teams, ensure safety, and drive performance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with two+ years of management experience and lifeguard/CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. Bachelor’s degree is preferred and advancement opportunities exist within the growing franchise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two+ years of management experience preferred.
• Experience as lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider required.
• Two+ years as a swimming instructor preferred.
• Lifeguard, CPR/AED and first aid certification required; shallow water attendant highly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
• Assists General Manager and department managers with fulfilling daily tasks.
• Manages the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction.
• Trains and oversees aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to students; interacts with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance.
• Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
• Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure proper product mix and pricing.
• Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure GSS standards are maintained.
• Gains knowledge in the Links software to achieve bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.
• Maintains knowledge in pool operations to keep a safe and sanitary environment.
• Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities to boost satisfaction.
• Directs and oversees implementation of Emergency Action Plan and safety procedures, training current staff.
• Keeps certifications up to date in aquatics and management.

Summary:

Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School daily operations including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending department, private party operations and workplace employee activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

4. Trains and oversees aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students of GSS. Interacts with Deck Supervisors and Golden Teachers on issues related to class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance and training.
5. Provides sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
6. Provides direction in the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.
7. Trains and oversees private party staff to ensure that the GSS standard operating procedures are being maintained.
8. Gains knowledge and experience in the Links software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting and administrative functions.
9. Gains a high level of knowledge and experience in the GSS pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
10. Initiates and oversees workplace employee activities (“Fun” Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction.
11. Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to the GSS facility and trains all current staff on the GSS EAP.
12. Maintains current certifications and stays up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.
13. Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor and/or childcare provider required. Certificates and Licenses:

Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
