Reports to: Assistant Director of Facilities for Planning and Construction

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and bid documents for the University’s facility/auxiliary and capital construction projects.
• Manage all aspects of new construction and renovation projects, including preparing budget estimates and reports.
• Create project and contract documents, and oversee outside design professionals.
• Coordinate and prepare construction documents, permitting, and construction‑related permits.
• Monitor contractor progress, quality of work, and materials compliance throughout design and construction.
• Coordinate engineering problem areas with contractors and review engineering drawings for constructability and design.
• Manage and coordinate projects from conception to completion.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Proficient and current in AutoCAD for plan preparations.
• Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with design, creating specifications, COMAR, OSHA, commercial construction, and construction management.
