Job summary

Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA is seeking a Manager of Security to oversee the Security Department, reporting to the Director of Public Safety. The role ensures a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors and coordinates all shift activities, incidents, and compliance with hospital policies.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of supervisory experience in healthcare security, strong customer service, English literacy, and the ability to write clear security reports.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience.
• Healthcare security experience preferred.
• AVADE certification in Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I–III or obtain within 60 days of employment.
• AVADE Trainer certification preferred or obtain within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all functions of the Security Department.
• Ensures a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

• Investigates incidents, oversees surveillance, conducts fire drills.

About this role

Reporting directly to the Director of Public Safety. Manages all functions of the Security Department including the supervision of Security personnel. Responsibilities include assuring a safe and secure environment for all patients, staff, and visitors. All shift activities are coordinated to ensure compliance with all hospital policies, monitors appropriate security officer response, documentation, adequate staffing levels, investigates incidents, oversees surveillance, conducts fire drills on and off site. Ensure that fire extinguishers are checked monthly by Security Officers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education
  • High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience
  • Minimum three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare security environment strongly preferred.
• Licensure and/or Certification
  • AVADE Certified in Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I, II, and III or obtain within 60 days of employment
  • AVADE Certified Trainer preferred or Obtain within 90 days of employment
• Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must demonstrate ability to write Security Reports
