Job summary

Confidential Careers is seeking an experienced SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager to oversee global consolidation in SAP, manage equity and complex transactions, and ensure GAAP compliance.

You will partner with U.S. and international units, prepare SEC filings, support quarterly earnings materials, and collaborate with external auditors while strengthening internal controls and SOX documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5–8 years of experience in public accounting and industry mix (manufacturing / consumer goods preferred).
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Excel; experience with consolidation tools such as OneStream or Hyperion is a plus.
  • Ability to draft and review technical accounting memos (ASC 606, ASC 350, ASC 360, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with U.S. and international business units during monthly close for consolidated books.
  • Lead monthly global financial statement consolidation in SAP.
  • Oversee accounting for stock-based compensation and complex transactions.
  • Review and assist in preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K/10-Q footnotes, cash flow, equity).
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos for non-routine events (debt, equity, M&A).
  • Support quarterly earnings releases, Audit Committee materials, and other reporting deliverables.
  • Perform covenant compliance calculations tied to credit agreements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Support annual impairment testing and maintain SOX documentation.

What the SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager Will Do
  • Partner with U.S. and international business units during the monthly close process, ensuring consolidated books are accurate, compliant, and timely.
  • Lead the monthly global financial statement consolidation in SAP.
  • Oversee and review the accounting for stock-based compensation and complex transactions.
  • Review and assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-K/10-Q footnotes, cash flow, equity, and subsidiary financial statements.
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos and documentation for special transactions (debt, equity, M&A, and other non-routine events).
  • Support the quarterly earnings release, Audit Committee materials, and other reporting deliverables.
  • Perform covenant compliance calculations related to the company’s credit agreements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Support the company’s annual and triggering event impairment testing.
  • Maintain strong documentation for SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Lead the filing of required government and industry financial surveys.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA strongly preferred
  • 5–8 years of experience, ideally with a public accounting and industry mix (manufacturing / consumer goods highly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel; experience with consolidation tools (e.g., OneStream or Hyperion) a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and review technical accounting memos (ASC 606, ASC 350, ASC 360, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact at all organizational levels
  • Driven, detail-oriented professional with proven leadership and critical thinking skills
