Job summary

Science from Scientists in Massachusetts seeks a Partnerships Manager to grow and sustain impact by building relationships with funders and schools. Qualifications

Job description

The Partnerships Manager plays a key role in growing and sustaining Science from Scientists' impact by building relationships with both funding partners and schools. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with corporate partners, foundations, individual donors, school districts, principals, and community organizations. The Partnerships Manager will help secure funding for programs while also expanding Science from Scientists' presence in schools throughout Massachusetts. This role combines elements of fundraising, educational partnerships, business development, account management, and community engagement. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, communicating with diverse stakeholders, creating new opportunities, and helping mission-driven organizations grow. The Partnerships Manager works closely with the Chief Development Officer and collaborates with team members across Massachusetts, Minnesota, and California to support organizational growth and sustainability. Occasional local travel to donor meetings, schools, district offices, conferences, and partner events is required.

School Partnership Development
  • Prospect and develop relationships with new schools, districts, and educational partners throughout Massachusetts.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing Science from Scientists partner schools.
  • Conduct outreach and meetings with principals, superintendents, curriculum directors, STEM coordinators, and other school leaders.
  • Present Science from Scientists programs and impact to school decision-makers.
  • Help schools identify the programming that best meets their students' needs.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to secure funding and support for STEM programming.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for school partners throughout the partnership lifecycle.
Partnership Development & Fundraising
  • Research and identify prospective corporate, foundation, community, and individual funding partners.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of partnership opportunities.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective supporters and community partners.
  • Schedule and participate in donor, partner, and school meetings.
  • Help cultivate and steward long-term relationships with funders and stakeholders.
  • Represent Science from Scientists at meetings, events, and community engagements.
Proposal & Grant Support
  • Assist with developing partnership proposals, sponsorship requests, and donor communications.
  • Support grant‑writing efforts by talking with donors about their priorities, interests, and funding goals and sharing those insights with the grant‑writing team.
  • Collaborate with the development team to strengthen funding requests and partnership opportunities.
Relationship Management
  • Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in Salesforce.
  • Help coordinate donor stewardship activities and follow‑up communications.
  • Support employee engagement events and volunteer opportunities with corporate partners.
  • Coordinate and lead donor classroom visits and partner experiences that showcase Science from Scientists' impact.
Collaboration
  • Work closely with partnership staff across Massachusetts, Minnesota, and California.
  • Assist with revenue forecasting and fundraising tracking.
  • Contribute ideas to improve fundraising systems, processes, and outcomes.
  • Support special projects and organizational initiatives as needed.
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in fundraising, business development, educational sales, account management, nonprofit partnerships, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining professional relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.

  • Experience working in education, STEM, youth development, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience using Salesforce or another CRM platform.
  • Experience presenting to school administrators, community leaders, or donors.
