Reporting to the Director of Digital and Audience Engagement, this role manages audience data, campaign analytics, and CRM insights to translate visitor data into actionable marketing tactics, lifecycle campaigns, and targeted segmentation. The Manager leverages modern digital tools, including data analytics platforms and AI-assisted marketing features, to track campaign performance, optimize workflows, and broaden the museum's audience reach. Additionally, the Manager represents the department on internal project teams and external promotional partnerships, exercising sound judgment to manage campaign logistics and maintain strong professional relationships across the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Acts as the primary lead for implementing data-driven campaign strategies and multi-channel marketing plans.
  • Plans and manages integrated digital and traditional marketing campaigns, coordinating data-informed channels including paid social media, display advertising, SEO/SEM, email communication pipelines, and lifecycle journeys (acquisition, onboarding, win-back).
  • Manages the marketing calendar to ensure timely asset distribution, data collection, and cross-departmental alignment.
Analytics, Reporting & Audience Insights
  • Manages marketing analytics tools and platforms to continuously monitor campaign KPIs, track ROI, and deliver actionable data reports to department leadership.
  • Oversees post-visit survey distribution and analyzes audience data, visitor lifetime value (LTV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS) metrics to optimize campaign performance and support attendance goals.
  • Maintains data accuracy and campaign tagging across web, email, CRM, and ticketing platforms to ensure reliable reporting and audience segmentation.
  • Utilizes modern marketing software, CRM systems, and AI-assisted analytics tools (e.g., generative copy platforms, dynamic creative tools, native CRM features) to streamline content creation, conduct A/B testing, and deliver personalized, data-targeted campaign content.
  • Coordinates with media agencies to execute approved media plans, track ad performance data, and monitor campaign delivery against established budgets.
  • Serves as the primary operational point of contact for external marketing vendors, including advertising, production, and audience research agencies.
Content Creation & Production Workflow
  • Develops creative briefs informed by audience data for campaigns, programs, and brand initiatives, ensuring alignment with overarching strategy.
  • Writes and edits engaging copy, maintaining consistency with museum brand identity, voice, and values across all channels.
  • Oversees the end-to-end production of marketing collateral, routing materials through required internal approval channels across print and digital platforms (including exhibition web pages and on-site visitor signage).
  • Mentors and supervises the Marketing Coordinator and supporting staff, fostering a collaborative, data-informed, tech-forward, and results-oriented team environment.
  • Fosters strong working relationships across internal departments (e.g., Curatorial, Visitor Experience, Membership, Retail) to share audience insights and support shared goals.

Performs additional duties as needed.
