Job summary

Trinity Health in Athens, GA is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to organize and direct all daily activities of the Clinical Laboratory departments, ensuring compliance with CLIA, CAP and AABB standards and supporting the hospital mission.

The role requires a BS in Medical Technology (MT) with ASCP or AMT certification, three years of supervisory experience, and strong budgeting, planning and leadership abilities; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or MT accreditation accepted by the State of Georgia; Master’s Degree preferred.
• ASCP or AMT certification required.
• Three years in a Laboratory supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and directs all daily activities of the Clinical Laboratory departments, ensuring compliance with CLIA 88, GDHR Laboratory, CAP and AABB regulations.
• Manages the activities of the Laboratory Department and supports hospital policies and mission.

and complies with hospital policies and supports the mission and values of the hospital.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Medical Technologist, ASCP or AMT certification

Education: BS in Medical Technology or MT accreditation accepted by the State of Georgia. Master’s Degree is preferred.

Experience: Three years in a Laboratory supervisory capacity.

Special Qualifications: A working knowledge of principles and practices of department administration, including development, planning, organization, financial and personnel reporting practices and methods and techniques in Laboratory Medicine as required by the regulatory agencies. Must be able to plan, organize and coordinate varied and complex operations, present ideas effectively, orally and in writing to a diverse audience. Must be able to deal constructively with conflict, collect, analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources and take appropriate action. Must be able to select, supervise, train and evaluate employees. Must have the ability to develop and manage a budget.
